The statistical data we collected from 11 public perfume formulas suggests that the mean dose for ocean carboxaldehyde is 2.2%. The typical lower limit is 0.25%, and the usual higher limit is 3.0%. The highest amount of ocean carboxaldehyde we encountered in any single formula is 10%, and the lowest was 0.030%.
Please note that according to the IFRA Standard Category 4, the level of ocean carboxaldehyde should not exceed 1.1% of the final product. Assuming that you will be using your formula for an alcoholic perfume at a 10% dilution, this means you should only use ocean carboxaldehyde at 11% or less of the formula.
