The statistical data we collected from 6 public perfume formulas suggests that the mean dose for methyl eugenol is 1.7%. The typical lower limit is 1.1%, and the usual higher limit is 3.0%. The highest amount of methyl eugenol we encountered in any single formula is 3.0%, and the lowest was 0.75%.
Please note that according to the IFRA Standard Category 4, the level of methyl eugenol should not exceed 0.016% of the final product. Assuming that you will be using your formula for an alcoholic perfume at a 10% dilution, this means you should only use methyl eugenol at 0.16% or less of the formula.
