The statistical data we collected from 98 public perfume formulas suggests that the mean dose for cinnamyl alcohol is 2.0%. The typical lower limit is 1.0%, and the usual higher limit is 5.0%. The highest amount of cinnamyl alcohol we encountered in any single formula is 17%, and the lowest was 0.050%.
Please note that according to the IFRA Standard Category 4, the level of cinnamyl alcohol should not exceed 1.2% of the final product. Assuming that you will be using your formula for an alcoholic perfume at a 10% dilution, this means you should only use cinnamyl alcohol at 12% or less of the formula.
