benzaldehyde
CAS Number: 100-52-7
The statistical data we collected from 74 public perfume formulas suggests that the mean dose for benzaldehyde is 0.23%. The typical lower limit is 0.020%, and the usual higher limit is 2.0%. The highest amount of benzaldehyde we encountered in any single formula is 28%, and the lowest was 0.0020%.
Please note that according to the IFRA Standard Category 4, the level of benzaldehyde should not exceed 0.25% of the final product. Assuming that you will be using your formula for an alcoholic perfume at a 10% dilution, this means you should only use benzaldehyde at 2.5% or less of the formula.
