The statistical data we collected from 36 public perfume formulas suggests that the mean dose for santol pentenol is 0.50%. The typical lower limit is 0.34%, and the usual higher limit is 1.0%. The highest amount of santol pentenol we encountered in any single formula is 2.5%, and the lowest was 0.12%.
Please note that according to the IFRA Standard Category 4, the level of santol pentenol should not exceed 1.1% of the final product. Assuming that you will be using your formula for an alcoholic perfume at a 10% dilution, this means you should only use santol pentenol at 11% or less of the formula.
