The statistical data we collected from 138 public perfume formulas suggests that the mean dose for patchouli ethanone is 3.1%. The typical lower limit is 2.0%, and the usual higher limit is 6.0%. The highest amount of patchouli ethanone we encountered in any single formula is 25%, and the lowest was 0.20%.
Please note that according to the IFRA Standard Category 4, the level of patchouli ethanone should not exceed 20% of the final product. Assuming that you will be using your formula for an alcoholic perfume at a 10% dilution, this means you should only use patchouli ethanone at 200% or less of the formula.
