benzyl benzoate
CAS Number: 120-51-4
The statistical data we collected from 40 public perfume formulas suggests that the mean dose for benzyl benzoate is 5.3%. The typical lower limit is 3.1%, and the usual higher limit is 13%. The highest amount of benzyl benzoate we encountered in any single formula is 35%, and the lowest was 0.29%.
Please note that according to the IFRA Standard Category 4, the level of benzyl benzoate should not exceed 4.8% of the final product. Assuming that you will be using your formula for an alcoholic perfume at a 10% dilution, this means you should only use benzyl benzoate at 48% or less of the formula.
