The statistical data we collected from 231 public perfume formulas suggests that the mean dose for geraniol is 2.5%. The typical lower limit is 0.75%, and the usual higher limit is 5.0%. The highest amount of geraniol we encountered in any single formula is 19%, and the lowest was 0.0010%.
Please note that according to the IFRA Standard Category 4, the level of geraniol should not exceed 4.7% of the final product. Assuming that you will be using your formula for an alcoholic perfume at a 10% dilution, this means you should only use geraniol at 47% or less of the formula.
