The statistical data we collected from 10 public perfume formulas suggests that the mean dose for estragole is 0.33%. The typical lower limit is 0.050%, and the usual higher limit is 0.63%. The highest amount of estragole we encountered in any single formula is 0.75%, and the lowest was 0.010%.
Please note that according to the IFRA Standard Category 4, the level of estragole should not exceed 0.42% of the final product. Assuming that you will be using your formula for an alcoholic perfume at a 10% dilution, this means you should only use estragole at 4.2% or less of the formula.
